Into the woods: A backcountry stay With full bellies, we piled back into the Outlander and ventured towards the final stretch of our day. Our ac- commodations for the night took us deep into the woods: a backcountry canvas tent nestled among the trees. Reaching it required hauling our gear down a short forest trail, but the effort was well worth it. The forest was alive with subtle sounds — the crunch of snow underfoot, the occasional rustle of wind through the pines, and the distant call of an owl. After a short 5- minute hike, we arrived at our tent, set among the trees and next to a frozen pond. We unloaded our gear and quickly strapped on snow- shoes, eager to enjoy the last few hours of sunlight before the deep winter chill sunk in. As the temperature plunged to -25°C, we cozied up in bed with the woodstove crackling nearby, its warmth wrapping us in a comforting glow. By morning, the fire had gone out, and the cold crept back in. It took a bit of effort to leave the cozy warmth of the bed, but once bundled up, we embraced the brisk air and set off toward the car. A hearty breakfast and heading home No road trip is complete without a greasy diner break- fast! Before leaving Muskoka, we stopped at Hook & Ladder, a local spot known for its hearty break- fasts. After refueling on eggs and hashbrowns, we hit the road for home, grateful for an adventure-filled weekend. Throughout our trip, the Outlander PHEV proved to be an invaluable asset. Its seven all-wheel drive modes and snow-ready features handled icy roads and snowy trails with ease, while its hybrid technology al- lowed us to explore remote areas without worrying about fuel or charging. Whether navigating through unplowed paths or enjoying the comfort of the heat- ed cabin, the Outlander enhanced every aspect of our winter weekend. Driving confidence with the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV As we drove back to Hamilton, we reflected on a trip that showcased the beauty of Muskoka in winter and the joy of venturing off the beaten path. With the right vehicle and a spirit of adventure, winter road trips like this are not just possible — they’re unforgettable. Mi
