You won’t see their logo on the tail of a jet, but the work done by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Canada Aerospace, Inc. (MHICA) has helped keep Bombardier aircraft in the skies since 2006. From a 474,000-square-foot facility in Mississauga, MHICA produces key components for some of the most rec- ognized business jets in North America. The company is part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, a global engineering group with strong roots in Japan and decades of experience in energy, infrastructure, defence, space and aerospace. MHICA reflects the group’s commitment to preci- sion, reliability and cross-border collaboration. It em- ploys more than 700 people and plays a key role in the structural assembly and systems installation of wings and centre fuselages for Bombardier’s Challenger and Global Express aircraft. Its proximity to major clients enables responsive logistics and seamless co-ordination. Local engineers and technicians oversee each step of the build pro- cess, focusing on precision and safety. As the oper- ation has expanded, so has its capacity to handle more advanced projects that demand deeper tech- nical expertise.
MHICA doesn’t work in isolation. It’s part of a larger Mitsubishi ecosystem, collaborating with production teams in Japan and Vietnam, as well as engineers based in Montreal and several U.S. cities. That level of alignment allows the group to manage complex aerospace programs across multiple sites with con- sistency and shared know-how. The Mississauga site has steadily evolved, moving beyond basic assembly to take on more technically demanding work.
