Celebrate Canada 2022 Spring And Summer Events
As pandemic-related restrictions lift nation-wide and spring gives way to summer, people will be out in full across the provinces soaking up all the fun warm weather activities Canada has to offer. And there are many spanning coast to coast: below we highlight a few events both old and new no resident or tourist should miss out on this season.
British Columbia Abbotsford International Airshow August 5 to 7
Veterans of the Airshow, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds are a particularly popular draw, flying their Canadair CT-114 Tutor jets solo and in formation up to nine while leaving signature white smoke trails in the sky. Other performers vary year- to-year: for example, in 2021 some high-powered military aircraft such as a USAF F-22 Raptor and RCAF CF-18 Hornet made special appearances.
The Abbotsford International Airshow is celebrating its 60th anniversary and hasn’t missed a step yet. The three-day spectacle, happening at the regional airport approximately an hour’s drive outside of Vancouver, is often ranked among the top 10 air shows in the world and features not only aerial acrobatics, but a kid’s area, displays and fireworks.
