Newfoundland and Labrador Iceberg Festival June 3 to 12
New Brunswick Greater Moncton Highland Games & Scottish Festival June 17 to 19 Celebrate Scottish and Celtic culture at the Greater Moncton Highland Games & Scottish Festival showcasing “feats of strength and feasts of lobster.” Receive an introduction to the Gaelic language at one of the dozens of workshops, or watch the demonstrations featuring highland dance, pipe, drum, falconry and sheep dog herding. Located at the Hal Betts Sportsplex on the beautiful waterfront in downtown Moncton, the 2022 Masters World Championships will be hosted simultaneously where men and women are set to compete in numerous categories including stone and heavy hammer throw and caber toss.
Few spring activities are as visually impressive as observing icebergs, which have broken off 10,000-year-old glaciers near Greenland and the Artic, float along Newfoundland and Labrador’s aptly named Iceberg Alley signalling the arrival of the season in the north. Accompanying the viewing of these majestic products of Mother Nature are a series of fun events held by the communities of St. Anthony, Conche, L’Anse aux Meadows, Raleigh, Roddickton and Bird Cove where attendees get to connect with local craftspeople, storytellers, chefs and musicians against the backdrop of amazing landscapes and seascapes.
